Welcome To Our Story!

We wanted to share our memories and reflect on all the good, the bad (sometimes ugly) and challenging times that we have had. It is truly a blessing for us all to be here to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. We hope that you enjoy our reflection.

Our Humble Beginning........

At 1:53:23 a.m. on May 27, 1995,Theta Delta Chapter - Wayne State University, eight women were born into the sisterhood of Zeta Phi Beta, they called themselves the Insatiable B.L.U.E.Z. These women were Shenek Guin, Kimberly Simmons, Melanie Caldwell, Ev Billingslea, Angela Taylor, Kimyatta Callen, Nicole Crumpton and Erika Baker. All strong women of varying ages, talents, majors, ideas, backgrounds, and motivations in life - all coming together to form a bond for life.

The Insatiable B.L.U.E.Z. journey to Zeta began on October 9, 1994 at the chapter's Annual Open House. With over forty women in attendance, no one thought that it would only come down to eight. The women of Theta Delta chapter were impressive with their commitment to community service and sisterhood. Their enthusiasm, energy and display of love for Zeta and their chapter was contagious. Theta Delta chapter introduced these interested women to many community service projects, on and off campus events, road trips and many other interesting activities.

Months passed and on Sunday, March 12, 1995 at 4:00 p.m., the final eight were introduced to the line process. Eleven grueling weeks and six tiring days later, the IB's were born. They say that with age comes wisdom, and with time comes life's challenges.  The IB's have endured personal triumphs (graduations, marriages, motherhood, career advances, self-discovery, etc.) and loses of loved ones. Each event in our lives have been shared with one another in some way. Through the trials and tribulations, we always seem to put aside our differences to help another IB or celebrate their "day". This has been a learning experience and has helped each of us grow as individuals. Our tenth anniversary is a great milestone that we are happy to share with each other, our family and friends.
